Presentación de la nueva voluntaria europea : Marion Alves
¡Hola a todos!
Soy la nueva volunteria european en Youropia y Hierbabuena, me llamo Marion Alves, tengo 23 años y vengo de Francia en Normandía. Acabo de terminar mis estudios en el ámbito social y siempre quise irme a vivir al extranjero para vivir nuevas experiencias.
At the very beginning, when I was applying at some ESC projects, the Sidecar project of Youropia intrigued me. I wanted to be useful for people, whatever are their difficulties. So, it’s was like the perfect match when I saw that I could use my creativity to act in the field of mental health and for the international youth mobility.
El miércoles 10 noviembre, salí del frio de Paris (3°C este mañana) y he llegado al aeropuerto de Asturias. ¡Fui bienvenido por Simone, Rebeca, Juan y el tiempo muy agradable con 14°C!
After being welcoming in my new shared flat and organize my stuff, I was invited to a dinner with almost everyone from Youropia and Hierbabuena ! I was so impressed by the huge plate of food and how was the cider poured in my glass. I learned that the hours of eating aren’t the same than in France : I was used to eat my lunch at 12:30am and my diner at 7pm. Now in Spain, it’s more like at 15pm and 21pm !
Jueves estaba una mañana muy agradable quien empezó con un desayuno multicultural : ¡pienso que los pasteles que traje fuen muy apreciado!
It was very tiring to speak in English and a bit in spanish all the morning, so at 2pm, my brain wouldn’t think anymore jajaja. But I didn’t give up and I went to visit the center of Oviedo during my free time in the afternoon. I fell in love with the buildings.
Viernes estaba muy divertido e interesante porque he aprendido sobre la asociación Hierbabuena. ¡Hay mucho activismo, actividades y me encantan sus metas!
I learned that it’s important for them to include everyone and to fight against stigmatization of the mental suffering. I also listened to their new rap album and I’m a fan !
He encontrado dos adherentes de Hierbabuena, Beatriz y Luis, y fue realmente un bueno momento con juegos y actividades manuales. He tenido algunas dificultades charlar con ellos porque solo hablan español. Pero fue la perfecta oportunidad para aprender y hablar español en un real contexto.
In the evening, there was the Foro Film : Minority Report of Philip K. Dick. It was the occasion to meet new people during the discussion after the film.
No he comprendido todo de lo que estaban hablando pero he entendido que podemos ver una comparación con la libertad de todos y poder tomar sus propias decisiones.
Para el sábado, fuimos a Gijon para un paseo a la senda al fluvial del Rio Piles hasta la Universidad Laboral con Hierbabuena. Fue un día agotador pero genial y fue agradable pasar tiempo con todos. De nuevo, tengo dificultades con la barrera del idioma ¡pero creo que he mejorado mi vocabulario! He observado que ingles fue necesario algunas veces, pero mi meta es de ser capaz de hablar no utilizando el inglés al final de mi viaje.
At the end of that first week, I can already see that my experience is already very intense! I didn’t thought that both organizations (Youropia and Hierbabuena) was so developed. They have so much tools to help people and it motivate me to invest myself in their activities!

Je suis très heureux de lire ces premiers jours, je te souhaites sincèrement de profiter de cette nouvelle vie et nouvelle famille pour les prochains mois. Ne prend pas froid dans cette douceur et je te souhaite de beaucoup de perdre dans les rues et les conversations, c’est comme cela que l’on apprend et que l’on rencontre ce qu’il y a de plus inattendu!
